Organize Buyer Questions by Persona and Buying Stage

Generated and imported questions receive persona and buying-stage assignments. These can be edited through the available system controls or by asking the team. Editing access depends on the client configuration and permissions.

Personas describe who asks a question. Buying stages describe the decision they are trying to make. Using both helps a team avoid treating every question as a request to buy immediately.

The question bank combines initial company, competitor, SEMrush and Ahrefs research with persona-based expansion, related and long-tail questions, and company-requested questions through Question Generator. Persona and stage groupings help review the relevance and coverage of the focused 150–200-question set.

For a question without its own keyword-volume value, Xtrusio uses the volume associated with a related keyword. If no volume or related keyword is available, Xtrusio requests an informed estimate through an AI-model API, such as ChatGPT or Claude. During instance setup, the team cross-checks the keyword research and uploads the finalized SEMrush dataset into Xtrusio to generate questions. The software displays one final volume value without separate source or estimate labels. Related-keyword volume and AI estimates do not establish the number of people asking that exact question in an AI service.

Assign the question by its purpose

A finance leader asking about total cost needs different evidence from an operator asking how to configure a workflow. The product can be the same while the required answer differs.

Read the actual question before choosing a stage. The presence of a product name alone does not establish purchase intent.

Review a filtered set

  1. Open the question bank in the correct client instance.
  2. Select the persona or stage controls shown there.
  3. Inspect the questions remaining in the result.
  4. Check ambiguous and unassigned questions with the team.
  5. Record the selected filters when using the result in a brief or report.

Unassigned questions may be excluded by persona or stage filters. Check the unassigned group when reconciling a filtered total with the full question bank.

Example

Illustrative questions:

  • “What is CLM?” introduces a category.
  • “Which CLM supports renewal obligations?” compares fit.
  • “How do we migrate our existing contracts?” concerns implementation.

A team might assign these to different stages after reviewing its customer journey. This is an editorial classification, not a universal stage model.

If counts do not match

Clear the filters and compare the scope, including unassigned records. Confirm whether one question can belong to multiple groups before summing category totals.

Use the filtered set to choose an appropriate explanation, proof type and next action for that audience.
