Rankscale: What It Tracks, What It Costs and Alternatives

Short answer
Rankscale tracks brand mentions, rankings, citations and sentiment across 17+ AI engines. Its Essentials plan costs $17 to $20 a month, billed yearly, for 120 credits. Monthly plans start with Pro at $99 for 1,200 credits, checked 3 November 2026.
Engine queries usually cost 0.25 credits, but Rankscale's calculator charges 2 credits for Claude. If you want a free start, Xtrusio has a free self-serve plan and free visibility check. Peec AI starts at $95 a month, while Profound offers a free 7-day trial, all checked 3 November 2026.
Pick Rankscale if you want model-weighted credits and rollover; pick Xtrusio if you want a free first look with an option for managed content.
A marketing lead sees Rankscale's $99 price, checked 3 November 2026, in a tool list and wants a useful answer: how many prompts do 1,200 credits really cover? The answer changes with the engines and schedule. That makes the credit maths more important than the headline price.

- Essentials: $17 to $20 a month, billed yearly, with 120 credits. It has no credit rollover.
- Pro: $99 a month with 1,200 credits, up to 4,800 answers, 10 brand dashboards and 50 page audits. Credits can roll over up to 2 times.

- Growth: $385 a month with 5,500 credits, up to 22,000 answers and 50 dashboards. It adds white-label options and rollover up to 3 times.
- Enterprise: $780 a month with 12,000 credits, up to 48,000 answers and 100 dashboards. Rollover can reach 3 times.
- Custom: a plan based on credit volume, team size and workflow.
Rankscale allows credit top-ups, and topped-up credits remain active while the subscription is active. The pricing page also offers a free Pro trial.
Best for: buyers who want detailed engine-level credit controls. Strength: the plan ladder names credits, answer limits, dashboards and rollover. Limit: engine costs vary, so the same plan can cover very different prompt counts. Skip it if: you want to choose from a simple fixed prompt allowance without doing credit maths.

How Rankscale credits work
Each engine query usually costs 0.25 credits per prompt. Rankscale's calculator gives AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini that rate. DeepSeek costs 1 credit and Claude costs 2.
The calculator's own weekly example uses 50 prompts across engines costing 0.75 credits per run. It totals 162.5 credits a month. Monthly credits renew each billing cycle.
Xtrusio
Xtrusio is our product. It has a free self-serve plan and a managed service with a free trial, then tiered plans with details on request.
Xtrusio tracks perception across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Grok. It plans content from the searches engines run, adds strategist approval and counts a piece only when an engine cites that exact URL. It also runs exact-URL citation checks after publication.
Best for: teams that want a free starting point and an option to turn visibility gaps into managed content. Strength: the workflow connects prompt tracking, strategist approval and exact-URL citation checks.
Our example: how far 1,200 credits go
Our example (illustrative brand, our calculation from Rankscale's published credit costs, checked 3 November 2026): Maple Row Dental.
Maple Row Dental wants daily tracking on ChatGPT, AI Mode and Perplexity for broad buyer visibility, then a smaller Claude set for deeper answer checks.
- ChatGPT, AI Mode and Perplexity daily cost 22.5 credits per prompt each month. Pro covers 53, Pro+ 133 and Growth 244 whole prompts (our calculation, rounded down).
- The same 3 engines weekly cost 3.25 credits per prompt each month. Pro covers 369, Pro+ 923 and Growth 1,692 whole prompts (our calculation, rounded down).
- Those 3 engines plus Claude daily cost 82.5 credits per prompt each month. Pro covers 14, Pro+ 36 and Growth 66 whole prompts (our calculation, rounded down).
Our suggestion: pick the engines first. Claude costs 8 times a ChatGPT run in Rankscale's calculator.
Peec AI
Peec AI's Starter plan costs $95 a month for 50 prompts and a choice of 3 models, checked 3 November 2026. Pro costs $245 for 150 prompts, and Advanced costs $495.
Best for: buyers who prefer prompt counts to model-weighted credits. Strength: Starter and Pro name the prompt allowance. Limit: Starter covers 50 prompts and 3 models. Skip it if: that starting allowance is below your tracking list.
Profound
Profound offers a free 7-day trial with 50 prompts run daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, checked 3 November 2026. Its Enterprise plan has custom pricing and tracks up to 9 answer engines.
Best for: teams that want to sample the named trial engines before a demo. Strength: the trial states its prompt count, engines and duration. Limit: Enterprise uses a custom price. Skip it if: you do not want a custom-priced Enterprise plan.
